Porsanger Battalion - NATO's most North-Eastern fighting force

The 8^th of May is a very symbolic day, not only for Norwegians, but for people around the world. It is the day that the Allied Forces of WW2, formally accepted the unconditional surrender of the German armed forces. It is also a day where Norway acknowledges the sacrifices of its veterans since World War II -calling it Veterans Day or “Veterandagen” in Norwegian.We thought it fitting to celebrate this day and these warriors by publishing a video we took of the proud soldiers from the Porsanger Battalion in the winter of this year. The purpose of our visit was to showcase our latest equipment for the Battalion and spend time with them as they trained outdoors.The Porsanger Battalion is located in Finnmark which is an arctic region in the northern part of Norway. The Battalion's purpose is to defend this region which is in similar size to the whole of Denmark. It is by no means, an easy task. You can read more about the Battalion here.

Extremely cold and difficult weather conditions in the winter are common place and can be deadly if you do not have the right training and clothing to cope with these factors in mind.Please note that some of the equipment used by the soldiers in this movie was provided by NFM and is not standard issue. We would once again like to thank the Battalion and the Norwegian Defence Forces for the opportunity and privilege of spending time with these warriors.There have been many questions about the type of equipment the soldiers used during this film, so we have listed them here for you.
