NFM’s innovative grid vest system

NFM was established in 1996 by four officers who wanted to improve their equipment. Since then, NFM has always strived to be unique in its design philosophy where technology, functionality and the end user are the primary focus of what we do.

The original grid vest system

In the years from 2014 to 2016, NFM developed the “grid vest system” in dialogue with a customer.

Due to the customer’s humid location and weather conditions, their need for modularity came from a situation where not all end-users would have been issued ballistic protective plates. That meant that the vest had to be modular, allowing it to uphold its functionality as a load-bearing vest with the possibility to add protection.

The grid vest design has been continually enhanced in-house based on vital feedback from our customers, resulting in the THOR Modular Combat Vest System™ (MCVS).

The improvements to this new system design include better ergonomics, increased modularity, enhanced functionality and integration between the elements in the system.

These elements can all be used as stand-alone items based on the user’s requirements at any time.
