Interview with Daniel Fuglevaag Moen

New CEO of Rigg

Daniel Fuglevaag Moen

Company:

Rigg AS – operating Norsegear, 2Alfa and Provakt

Role:

CEO

Starts:

3 January 2022We are pleased to announce that Daniel Fuglevaag Moen is the new CEO of Rigg AS, which operates NFM´s B2C E-commerce channels: Norsegear, 2Alfa and Provakt. Daniel has a long and exciting career in the sports industry in Norway. The current CEO, Joachim Riise, will continue in the company in a more operational role.In this short introductory interview, you will get to know a little more about Daniel.

Please tell us a little about your career

I have spent my entire career in the Sports industry. In 1999 I started working as a sales assistant at a sports store and have worked my way up in the industry ever since. Roles that I have had include; Sales Manager, Retail Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Operations Manager. Since 2006 I have worked for the Gresvig Group and Intersport which includes: G-Sport, G-Max and Intersport.

How can your experience benefit Norsegear?

I do feel that the experience I have had as a salesman but also as an operations manager will benefit me as the CEO of Norsegear as I have worked in all aspects of the industry and therefore hold a holistic point of view which will be beneficial for Norsegear. I believe that I can bring a good mix of commerciality to Norsegear to get the maximum potential out of its Webshop both nationally and internationally. My long-term experience with teamwork and results-based leadership has given me important competence within those fields that will benefit Norsegear on its way to realize its goals and ambitions.

Do you feel it will be a challenge going from sports to tactical equipment?

It feels like a natural transition for me as I have always been interested in extreme sports, especially “backcountry” skiing where I hike up steep, tall mountains to enjoy the untouched powder snow on the way down. I love the outdoors, sleeping in tents, lighting a campfire and enjoying what nature has to offer us. In my military service I was lucky to be in the army and spent most of the service outdoors.

What are your Christmas holiday plans?

My partner is Swedish so we alternate between Christmas celebrations in Norway and Sweden, and this year we will spend Christmas over there with her family and our two-year-old daughter. We consider ourselves lucky that way, getting to enjoy both Swedish and Norwegian traditions for Christmas. We can celebrate two national events every year – Norway’s constitutional day on the 17th of May and Midsummers in Sweden.

If you were stranded on a deserted island and you were able to chose one product to have with you from Norsegear, which one would it be?

I would bring the BCB – 72 Hour Survivial Kit*. This kit would give me the most value in this situation and the kit is designed to give me peace of mind in the crisis.[qode_simple_quote simple_quote_text="Building up a company from scratch is hard work, but also the most rewarding when it pays off. The process of going from 3 to 30 employees has been the greatest learning experience I have had." simple_quote_author="Tina Tharaldsen, NFM Group"]

FUN FACTS

Because of my participation as an amateur actor in a theatre in Sunndalsøra, long story short, it led to me ending up at an after party with Jens Stoltenberg.NFM Group wishes Daniel good luck in his new role!*More information about the 72 hour survival kit can be found here: https://www.norsegear.no/bcb-72-hour-survival-kit.html
